The California Highway Patrol said it found a 2024 Tesla Model Y crashed into a tree and fully engulfed in flames. Officers said a passenger was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene.
The driver and another passenger were found dead inside the vehicle after the flames were put out, the CHP said.
Firefighters and paramedics responded to a traffic collision involving two vehicles that occurred around 11:11 a.m. at the intersection of Ventura Boulevard and Densmore Avenue.
Six people were transported to hospitals, and a woman was pronounced dead upon arrival. The condition of the other five is unknown.

LAPD confirmed that the incident involved a Tesla and a Lexus. Authorities also said one vehicle struck a pole and that a pedestrian was injured.
This comes as Elon Musk promotes a video of a Tesla driver ignoring intersections.
“I don’t want to look at every intersection and see, ‘Is this intersection clear, and is that one clear? Is there anybody behind me?’ I don’t want any of that, and I don’t have any of it,” Larry says in the video.
Police reported the cyclist rode “against a red traffic signal”.
…a 38-year-old man was driving a 2023 Tesla Model 3 westbound on Balboa Avenue in the right lane. The vehicle struck the bicyclist in the intersection, police said. The teenager was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Bernard Massey, 56, of Silver Spring, died on Tuesday, Sept. 8, five days after he was struck by a Tesla on Georgia Avenue in Northwest DC, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.
The crash happened shortly after 4 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 3, in the 7700 block of Georgia Avenue NW.
