German Tesla Crashes Into Truck, Airbag Fails to Deploy

German press reported that the Tesla wheel failed and fell off (a known design defect) and the airbag failed to deploy, and the hood didn’t release safely.

A Tesla overtaking a truck ripped open the right side of the vehicle, completely tearing off the wheel. The driver was taken to the hospital with injuries. Initial assessments showed that the Tesla’s airbag did not deploy. The Hohenstein-Ernstthal Fire Department responded with four emergency vehicles. The hood of the Tesla had to be pried open to cut the main power cable. Paramedics and emergency medical services also quickly arrived on the scene.

  1. Germany definitely needs fewer Tesla! It’s unsafe for exactly this reason. The German driver literally was fighting Tesla as it tried to slice the truck in half In fact FSD supervised probably removed the gap between the car as we have seen in many other “veered” and sudden lane violations by Tesla software. He’s lucky he survived and I’m amazed only the front wheel was torn off given how poorly made the car is. That being said , Teslas are routinely being criticized for having the most crashes of any cars in the world.

The day we ban Tesla is the day these sad incidents will stop occurring. Autonomous vehicles from any other brand are in their infancy and already far safer than the deadly Tesla that puts everyone in danger
