Trump has become so cartoonishly villainous, even places that voted for him are choking on the foul smell. Rural Colorado seems to be in disbelief about coal.
“This order will pass tens of millions in costs to Colorado ratepayers, in order to keep a coal plant open that is broken and not needed,” [Colorado Governor] Polis said in a statement.
“Ludicrously, the coal plant isn’t even operational right now, meaning repairs — to the tune of millions of dollars — just to get it running, all on the backs of rural Colorado ratepayers!”
That’s stupid, but it get even worse. Rural America doesn’t yet get why the guy they elected to hurt the “others” is killing clean water.
President Trump decided to veto a completely non-controversial, bipartisan bill that passed both the House and Senate unanimously. Why? Because nothing says ‘America First’ like denying clean drinking water to 50,000 people in Southeast Colorado, many of whom enthusiastically voted for him in all three elections.
Maybe if they took “Russian asset” and “corrupt billionaire” allegations more seriously, these Americans wouldn’t be so surprised by him acting like a Russian asset?
