AU Tesla Kills Two in Three-Way Crash

Initial reports suggest a Tesla failed to avoid crashing on a highway around 5pm.

A Ford sedan, Ford ute and Tesla were involved in a crash near the intersection of Riddoch Hwy and Three Mile Ln in Penola, north of Mount Gambier. The 62-year-old male sedan driver and his 54-year-old female passenger, both from Suttontown, died at the scene.

Road markings are confused or missing at a rural three-way intersection and apparently the Tesla “veered” abruptly.

Tesla software is notorious for failing to navigate bends on a rural two lane highway (e.g. California, California again and Pennsylvania). Notably this latest crash had complex road markings.
