The details may be interesting in this Arizona case, which seems similar to some other recent Tesla “stopped in the road” crashes. So far we know a Tesla at 3am suddenly was hit by a huge truck from behind.
The driver of a Tesla sedan died early Friday morning in a car crash reported on the Loop 202 freeway.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety said the two-vehicle collision was reported on Oct. 31 at about 3 a.m. near the Dobson Road exit in the East Valley.
The crash involved a Tesla sedan being rear-ended by a Ford F350 pickup truck in the eastbound lanes, DPS said. The driver of the Tesla vehicle died at the scene.
Earlier this month in Florida a fatally stopped Tesla was not explained.
Don’t forget : phantom braking stopped Tesla in middle of bay bridge causing 8 car pile up about 2 years ago. Somehow no one died despite 8 cars piling up on top of each other because the Tesla suddenly just ‘stopped’ out of nowhere.
Many cars vastly exceed the 50mph posted speed limit on the SF-Oakland Bay Bridge so if a car just suddenly died, cars driving too close won’t be able to stop safely.
